The class format consists of a gentle, "health-giving" warmup exercise sequence, followed by a more vigorous "break-out" period. Stretching, rolling, running, meditation, and partner work are components of this. The final part of the class consists of work on the techinical aspects of bohjutsu and finding your true personal expression within this art.
Although there is a strong physical component to this class, all exercises can be adapted to the individual's physical abilities. Students are encouraged to rest as needed and rejoin the class with full expression. Emphasis is on relaxation, cooperation, respect, and concentration. Our goal is to use bohjutsu exercises to draw out the best in ourselves and in our partners.
Please call before attending if you are a first-time attendee, so that a practice Joh is available. Class may be cancelled on major holidays.
